Has your blade ever dragged across your design? Is your Cricut suddenly not working correctly?
If your machine freezes, experiences power problems, cutting issues, or anything out of the ordinary, this reset procedure is a good place to start the troubleshooting process. Nine times out of ten, this reset procedure will resolve the issue:
First, turn your machine on with no cartridge loaded. Then roll all the dials (the two on the left for speed and pressure, and the one on the right for size) down to their lowest setting.
Grasp the blade assembly box and use it to pull the entire carriage car unit (the one with the Cricut bug on it) along its track to the other side of the machine. Back in the cave where the carriage car usually sits, there is a red button. Press that button and hold it down for about three seconds. Let go and then move the carriage car back into place.
This next step will sound a bit odd, but many times it can fix your little "bug". You're going to roll all your dials all the way up and all the way down three times for each dial.
After this, press the "Cut" button and turn the machine off. Let the machine sit for a few minutes (15-20), load a cartridge, turn it on, and try a practice cut.

Updated Design Space to support Cricut Explore One. When an Explore One is connected, Design Space will prompt the user to change between pens, the scoring tool, and the blade housing as needed. (The pen and its adapter for the Explore One will be sold separately.)
Insert Shapes button: Basic shapes and the score line image can easily be added to the canvas by clicking this convenient button.
Align & Distribute function: When multiple images are selected you can now easily align and distribute them on your canvas. This eliminates the need to use the canvas borders to line up your images. (Centering will be much easier)
Improved Image Handles: The image handles have been re-sized and will remain the same size regardless of the zoom level. They also temporarily disappear when dragging the image. This is to improve visibility when positioning images.
Some people have a super easy time with the Silhouette Studio print and cut features, others want to tear their hair out and toss the machines out the window.

Whenever you see triangles beside icons or menu items, it means that additional options are available.
In this post, I am showing SCAL4, but the same principle applies to all software programs.
To choose additional options when an icon displays a triangle with additional options, just hold down the mouse on the icon until the additional options are displayed. Then choose the option you want.

access the additional options, just hover your mouse cursor over the
item for which you want to display additional options. Then choose the
option you want.
Have you had a hard time adding nodes to existing shapes in Sure Cuts a Lot. I'm not surprised because it is a bit tricky, but in this video, I show you how to add and delete nodes and why it doesn't seem to be working, which is what I thought at first.
I am working on a pocket letter swap and the theme for this swap is The Walking Dead. My swap partner and I both like Daryl Dixon the best so we are both working on pages with images of him. The name of the show is perfect for a knockout design so that is what I am including in my pocket letter.

The Unicode Character Viewer is actually an iPhone app, not an iPad app, but it will work on your iPad and will allow you to select the extra characters in the Samantha font in the Cricut Design Space app.
The video below shows the two apps you need for this and how they are used.

In this quick written tutorial, I am going to teach you how to turn on the cut lines in Silhouette Studio version 3.
When you first open an SVG file in Silhouette Studio, the image looks like this:
Cut lines are always displayed as bold red lines so you can see that there are no cut lines in the text cutting file above.
If cut lines were enabled, the text would look like this:
To turn on the cut lines, you need to follow the steps below.
Click the Cut Settings (1) icon. I am using the Business Edition so this icon is displayed in the upper right corner. If you are using the Basic or Designer Edition, the icon will be in the lower right corner of the screen.
You will see that No Cut is selected under Cut Style (2).
The text on the mat will not be cut because there are no bold red lines around the text (3).
Select the design and then click Cut (4) to make sure all of the lines in your design are cut. If you only want to cut the outline of your design, choose Cut Edge.
You will know your design is selected when a bounding box (5) is displayed around your design. The bold red lines (5) show where the machine will cut.
